Christmas: Recommit to selfless service, Kogi leader urges Christians

The Olu Apata-Oworo in the Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, Frederick Balogun, has said Christmas symbolises hope, peace and joy to humanity across the globe.
He said this in a Christmas message in Lokoja on Thursday.
Mr Balogun described Christmas as a season that rekindles the hope of mankind, considering the challenges the federal and state governments are trying to address.
He stated, “Christmas, which is the celebration of Jesus Christ, calls for sober reflection and display of faith in God, even as we pray for His divine intervention in our lives.
“I hereby urge Christians and others to use this festive season to reflect on their responsibilities as citizens of Nigeria and to recommit themselves to selfless service for its economic growth.
“May this Christmas season renew our hope for a better future as God helps us in eradicating banditry, kidnapping and terrorism in the country.”
Mr Balogun urged residents of the state and Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Ododo’s policies and programmes for the achievement of the desired growth and development of Kogi and Nigeria.
He wished all residents of Apata-Oworo and Kogi a merry Christmas and a fulfilling festive season.
