Clearance operations ongoing after bandits’ attack in Niger: Police

The Niger State Police Command said security agencies are carrying out clearance operations and monitoring activities following an attack by suspected armed bandits that left four people dead.

SP Wasiu Abiodun, police public relations officer in Niger, disclosed this in a statement in Minna on Sunday.

He said the incident occurred in Damala village, Woko District, Borgu Local Government Area, Niger.

Mr Abiodun said the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, when the assailants reportedly rustled some cattle and set several shops ablaze within the village.

The police spokesperson said the security agencies visited the scene promptly, and clearance operations were ongoing while monitoring of the situation continued.
