The Coalition of Christian Groups for Good Governance, Nigeria and Diaspora (COCGOG) has called on Nigerians to elect credible leaders.

COCGOG, in collaboration with other para-church groups, also called for more unity and peace among the citizens, irrespective of religious or ethnic affiliations.

This is contained in a communiqué signed by the spokesperson for COCGOG, Emmanuel Yoeah, at the end of its executive meeting on Sunday in Abuja.

Mr Yoeah called for an overhauling of the value system in governance and a change of narrative in Nigeria

“Nigeria is at a critical moment in the history of her existence and thus, critically needs urgent but in-depth multidimensional approaches in overhauling our value system in order to positively change the narrative.

“We are convinced that it is time for Nigerians to unite and choose a leader with the capacity and capabilities to rebuild the broken unity, peace and confidence among the citizens, irrespective of religious or ethnic affiliations,” he said.

He urged the federal government and all stakeholders to intensify actions and synergy to boost the restoration of true peace and security in the country.

Mr Yoeah also cautioned Nigerians on the danger posed by using religion to campaign by some politicians in the country.
