Coca-Cola-laden truck kills 3 in Ibadan

A truck loaded with Coca-Cola products has crushed three persons to death in Ibadan.
They were killed at the Total Garden area of Ibadan, Oyo.
The victims of the accident were a commercial motorcyclist and two passengers.
A witness, Joel Idowu, stated that the fully-loaded truck killed the motorcyclist and his passengers in front of Bovas filling station while the motorbike tried to overtake the truck.
Mr Idowu explained that some angry youths and motorcyclists at the scene attempted to set the truck ablaze, but security operatives prevented them by shooting into the air.
Meanwhile, normalcy has returned to the area, as police officers towed the truck to their office and deposited the remains of the victims at a mortuary.
When contacted, Uche Chukwurah, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, confirmed the incident.
Ms Chukwurah said five people were involved in the crash, with three confirmed dead and two others injured.
She attributed the cause of the crash to a brake failure of the truck.
Ms Chukwurah explained that the injured persons were receiving treatment at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.
