Community Shield: Iheanacho scores as Leicester defeat Manchester City
Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho on Saturday scored helping Leicester City defeat Manchester City 1-0 in the 2021 Community Shield game.
Iheanacho’s 89th-minute penalty won Leicester their second Community Shield trophy at Wembley.
Saturday’s victory comes exactly 50 years after Leicester last won the trophy.
Manchester City lost on Jack Grealish’s debut with the club. Grealish joined Manchester City for a record £100m transfer fee, becoming the first English player to be signed on a £100m transfer fee.
Leicester will commence their English Premier League campaign for the 2021/2022 season against Wolves next weekend.
