Court discharges two Abuja motorists charged with reckless driving, obstruction
A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Wuse, Abuja on Tuesday discharged Sadiq Adeniran and Emeka Jude charged with reckless driving and causing obstruction.
The Police charged Adeniran and Jude with parking in an unauthorised area and causing obstruction.
Magistrate Ngozi Okonkwo discharged Adeniran and Jude following their guilty plea to the said offence.
Ms Okonkwo however warned them to refrain from causing road obstruction and be of good behaviour.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Chinenye Okafor, told the court that Adeniran and Jude drove their Nissan Altima and Ford Focus cars in a careless manner.
Ms Okafar added that the drivers caused obstruction on the highway as a result and had no regard for other road users along Nnamdi Azikwe Express way by Berger, Utako, Abuja.
She said the offence contravened the provisions of section 41 of the Road Traffic Act.
Adeniran and Jude however begged for mercy, saying that they parked their cars to pick up passengers.(NAN)
