An area court sitting at Centre-Igboro, Ilorin, on Tuesday dissolved the Islamic marriage of Omoalijana Ibrahim and Kudirat Ibrahim over stubbornness by the woman.

The judge, Abdulqadir Umar, made the dissolution as sought by the man.

Mr Umar held that the couple’s families failed to settle the case out of court.

He ordered that the woman be properly served the judgment, adding that she must observe the three-month ‘Iddah’ period before she could marry again.

The husband had applied for divorce on May 3, alleging that Ms Kudirat was stubborn and all efforts to change her behaviour failed.

He attributed her failure to appear in court twice to her stubbornness.
