The Maitama Division of the FCT High Court has granted the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, unrestricted access to his lawyers and family members.
According to a report by Channels TV, Justice Hamza Muazu, gave the order on Friday, stating that it is within Mr Emefiele’s constitutional rights.
The order was sequel to an application filed by J.B. Daudu SAN, counsel to Mr Emefiele.
According to the report, the lawyer informed the court that he had written letters to the SSS, particularly on June 14, for the purpose of taking further instruction from him, but the SSS has refused to respond to the application.
The Gazette had reported last week Saturday the arrest of Mr Emefiele by operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) hours after his suspension by President Bola Tinubu on Friday evening.
