Court remands labourer for defiling four-year-old girl

On Thursday, the Kaduna High Court ordered that a 34-year-old labourer Umar Adamu be remanded in prison custody for defiling a four-year-old girl.
The police charged Mr Adamu, who resides in Pala Village of Anchau local government area of Kaduna, with defilement.
Justice A. A. Bello, who declined to admit the defendant to bail, ordered that he be remanded in Kaduna prison custody.
She adjourned the case until March 10 for a hearing.
The defence counsel, Rabiu Adamu, made a bail application for the accused, urging the court to grant him bail in the most liberal terms.
The prosecution counsel, Florence Hassan, told the court that the defendant defiled the minor on January 24.
Mr Hassan explained that the defendant lured the four-year-old into his room when her mother went to the market and defiled her.
