Court remands man alleged armed robbery, conspiracy

An Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun, on Wednesday, remanded a 25-year-old man, Herick Abdullahi, at a correctional facility over alleged armed robbery and conspiracy.
Mr Abdullahi, whose address was not provided, is facing a three-count charge of armed robbery, conspiracy, and burglary.
The prosecutor, E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant and others, now at large, committed the offences on October 19, 2024, at Onimalu Ilogbo, Ota.
Mr Adaraloye said that Mr Abdullahi used arms to break into the house of the complainant, Oni Samson, and stole his iPhone 13 and other items worth N1.3 million.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 390(9), 401, and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The magistrate, O.O. Fadairo, who did not take the defendant’s plea, ordered that the case file be sent to the director of public prosecutions for legal advice.
She, thereafter, adjourned the case until March 10, for mention.
