Court remands three men over alleged theft of electrical cables worth N4 million

An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court , Ibadan, Oyo State, on Wednesday ordered the remand of three men for allegedly breaking and entering into a residential house to steal electrical cables valued at N4 million.
The defendants, Victor Adewale, 23, Olajide Mubarak, 18, and Isiaka Abdullahi, 18, were charged on a three-count of conspiracy, breaking and entering with stealing.
The Chief Magistrate, Olabisi Ogunkanmi ordered their remand at the Agodi Correctional facility, Ibadan, pending advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).
Mrs Ogunkanmi adjourned the matter until May 25, for mention.
Earlier, the Prosecuting Counsel Olapeju Durodola told the court that the three defendants with others now at large, allegedly conspired together to commit the crimes.
Ms Durodola said the defendants on January 16, at about 6:45 pm., at Omin–Adio area, Ibadan, allegedly broke into and entered the house of complainant, Ayoade Adekunle, with intent to commit the crimes.
She said the trio stole some electrical cables and fittings belonging to the complainant valued at N4 million. .
Ms Durodola said the offences are contrary to Section 383 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000, and punishable under Section 390(9), 411 (2) and 516.
