Court remands two labourers over alleged theft of eight cartons of pasta, N900,000 cash
A Sharia Court in Kano State on Wednesday ordered that two labourers who allegedly stole eight cartons of pasta and N900,000 cash be remanded in a correction centre.
The police charged Sagir Nasiru, 37 and Abubakar, 32, who both live in Gobirawa Quarters in Dala Local Government Area, Kano with criminal conspiracy and theft.
They pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Judge, Malam Umar Lawal-Abubakar, adjourned the matter until April 22 for further mention.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Inspector Abdullahi Wada, told the court that the case was reported on March 15, at the Fagge police station by a complainant, Aminu Muhammed, who also lives at Gobirawa Quarters.
Mr Wada said the defendants trespassed into the complainant’s shop and also stole one carton of macaroni, half carton of peak milk and one point of sale machine.
