Fourteen National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Sokoto have been confirmed positive with COVID-19 according to the state commissioner for health, Dr Ali Inname.

Speaking during a news conference in Sokoto Tuesday, Mr Inname said the infected members were detected in the ongoing orientation exercise and had already been moved to an isolation centre for prompt treatment.

Mr Inname said 19,557 people had been tested in the state, with a total of 787 confirmed cases and 28 deaths recorded.

He urged residents yet to be tested to do so and get vaccinated at the different centres in the state.
