CP commences disciplinary action against four Delta cops caught counting money in patrol van

Delta State Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Abaniwonda, has commenced disciplinary action against four officers for possible extortion of motorists.

Spokesperson for the police command, Bright Edafe, disclosed on Tuesday, in a post, in response to a viral video shared on X.

The video showed the officers, in a patrol van of an Asaba command parked on the road, counting wads of cash.

Mr Edafe said the officers, “in the embarrassing video have been identified and arrested,” adding that, “they appeared before the CP today.”

The police spokesperson stated that two of the operatives, “who are senior officers have been queried while the two inspectors have been detained and awaiting an orderly room trial.”
