A civil society organisation, Incorporated Trustees of Defendable Patriots for Nation Building and Transformation Initiative, has petitioned the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) seeking a probe of multibillion-naira properties linked to the director of land administration at the Federal Capital Territory Administration Abuja, Chijioke Nwankoeze.

Damilare Adenola, who filed the petition on behalf of the organisation, requested a Certified True Copy of the Assets Declaration form(s) of Mr Nwankoeze covering the period from January 2025 to 30th August 2026.

“On behalf of the aforementioned organisation, I write pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, 2011 to request a Certified True Copy of the Assets Declaration form(s) of Mr Nwankoeze

Williamson Chijioke (“the Officer”), covering the period from January 2025 to 30th August 2026, together with further details of other companies registered by the officer and his residential properties in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and Anambra State,” the petition read.

The properties listed in the petition include Sydney Farms Limited (RC No. 1143031, dated 17th September 2013); Plot 14/13, Ngozika Housing Estate, Awka, Anambra State (Exhibit 1); 42 Hectares of Land, Umuonyiba Village, Ufuma, Anambra State (Exhibit 2); Houses at Apo Resettlement, Zone E Extension, Abuja (Exhibit 3); House at No. 10, Festus Agwagu Close, Kado, Abuja (Exhibit 4); and House at Road 14, Ngozika Housing Estate, Awka, Anambra State (Exhibit 5).

Others include Houses at Umuonyiba Village, Ufuma, Anambra State (Exhibit 6); Filling Station opposite Ufuma Market, Anambra State (Exhibit 7); Land at FO1, Kubwa, Abuja (Plot No. 3364); Land Files (Law Alliance): MISC 130080, MISC 126756, and MISC 130066; and Land Files (Sydney Farms Limited): MISC 125642, MISC 125641, and MISC 125644.

According to Mr Adenola, the request was made pursuant to Sections 1 and 4 of the Freedom of Information Act, 2011, and Paragraph 3(c) of Part I of the Third Schedule to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), which allows a citizen to request access to, and empower the Bureau to make available for inspection, the asset declarations of public officers.

The petition urged the bureau to make the information available within seven days upon receipt of the application, as stipulated by Section 4 of the Freedom of Information Act, 2011.

“Sir, please note that the Office of the Honourable Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice is copied for record purposes,” it added.

The development came amid allegations of certificate forgery against Mr Nwankwoeze.

Last year, the non-profit organisation filed a suit alleging that Mr Nwankoeze forged his national diploma certificate from Kwara State Polytechnic which he used to gain employment in the civil service of the federation.
