The Lagos State commissioner of police, Olohundare Jimoh, has assured residents of continued efforts against cultism and illegal land activities.

He made the pledge during a familiarisation visit to Police Command, Elemoro, in Ibeju-Lekki on Friday.

Mr Jimoh stressed the importance of community cooperation in maintaining peace and security across the state.

He commended traditional leaders, community stakeholders, and residents, noting such partnerships are vital for effective policing.

“Our progress in crime prevention is significant thanks to community support. We urge our personnel to remain dedicated to maintaining peace,” he said.

Addressing land grabbing concerns, he assured the public that police actively monitor illegal land activities.

“Any unlawful action in land acquisition or building security is criminal. Offenders are arrested and prosecuted,” he stated.

He vowed to intensify the fight against cultism, warning that secret cult involvement will face strict legal consequences.

Mr Jimoh highlighted the police commitment to a safe environment for all, especially students and young people targeted by cult groups.

He called on community leaders, parents, and residents to report cult-related activities and partner with law enforcement.

The commissioner emphasised that community cooperation is key to preventing cult growth and sustaining peace in Lagos neighbourhoods.

“We will not tolerate cultism and arePa determined to bring offenders to justice,” he said.

Mr Jimoh reaffirmed the command’s commitment to strengthening community ties while ensuring residents’ safety across Lagos.
