Danladi Isa assumes duty as 34th police commissioner in Abia
On Thursday, Danladi Isa assumed duty as the 34th police commissioner in Abia.
He succeeded Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, who was promoted to assistant inspector general of police and redeployed to Zone 15, Maiduguri.
Mr Isa hails from Oganenigu, Dekina LGA, Kogi. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Ahmadu Bello University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Imo State University.
He joined the force as a cadet assistant superintendent of police in 1992 and has undergone extensive training in policing and strategic leadership.
Prior to his posting to the Abia command, Mr Isah served as the CP Admin Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos.

Speaking at his maiden media briefing at the command’s headquarters, Umuahia, Mr Isa revealed that he arrived in Abia with a clear mission to ensure peace and security.
He said part of his mission was fostering collaboration with all stakeholders and promoting a conducive environment where law and order prevail.
Mr Isa said, “Under my leadership, the police in Abia will prioritise intelligence-led policing. This approach is crucial in tackling modern crime challenges, as it allows us to stay one step ahead by preventing
crimes before they occur.
“By gathering, analysing, and acting on timely and relevant information, we can be more proactive and responsive in dealing with criminal activities.”
He added, “Corruption undermines the very fabric of our mission, and I am committed to ensuring a zero-tolerance policy in this regard.”
