Davido, Asake, Olamide Baddo, Ayra Starr get Grammy nominations

In a groundbreaking moment for Nigerian music, four talented artistes, Davido, Asake, Olamide Baddo, and Ayra Starr, have earned their first-ever Grammy nominations, as revealed in the 2024 Grammy nomination list released on Friday.
Davido, a heavyweight in the Nigerian music scene, adds another milestone to his career with three nominations.
He earned a nomination for the Best African Performance category for his hit single ‘Unavailable’ featuring Musa Keys. Additionally, he secured a nomination for the Best Global Music Performance category for his single ‘Feel,’ and he picked up his third nomination for the Best Global Album category for his record-breaking fourth album ‘Timeless.’
Davido reacted to his nominations in an X tweet, saying, “Delay is not denial”
Asake, known for his dynamic musical style, celebrates a well-deserved debut in the Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance for his song ‘Amapiano’ featuring Olamide Baddo, a veteran in the industry who also got nominated for this song. Asake said “Thank you 
” on his X page.
Ayra Starr, a rising star in the Nigerian music landscape, received a Grammy nod early in her promising career for her hit song ‘Rush’ under the Best African Music Performance category. Reacting to her first Grammy on her X page, she wrote, “Ayra Grammy nominated Starr !!! It’s only you Jesus, only you !” she said.
Burna Boy also bagged four nominations at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
