Davido releases sixth studio album ‘ORIADE’ featuring Mayorkun, Fola, others

Afrobeat star, David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, has released his sixth studio album titled ‘ORIADE.”
The 13-track project was released on Friday across major streaming platforms and coincides with the 15th anniversary of his professional music career.
The new album succeeds his previous studio projects: Omo Baba Olowo, The Genesis, A Good Time, A Better Time, Timeless, and 5ive.
According to the singer, the album title comes from the Yoruba words ‘Ori’, meaning head or destiny, and ‘Ade’, meaning crown.
He said it reflected themes of purpose, fulfilment and destiny.
He described the project as a reflection on his musical journey, gratitude and cultural roots, noting that it represents a stronger return to African and Yoruba-inspired sounds.
The album rollout began in June with the release of the lead single, ‘I Know Who I Be’, featuring South African producers, JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay, and was followed by ‘Gimme Dat Ting’, a collaboration with NO11.
The album also features collaborations with Ghanaian rapper, Black Sherif, Nigerian artistes Mayorkun, Fola and Llona, American singer, Leon Thomas and French-Malian music star, Aya Nakamura.
The album explores themes of identity, family, self-belief, and Nigerian excellence, underscoring Davido’s continued commitment to promoting African sounds on the global stage.
The release marks another milestone in the career of the award-winning artiste, who rose to prominence with the hit single, ‘Dami Duro’, and has since established himself as one of Africa’s most influential music exports.
