At least 270 bodies have been recovered, and 1,300 people remain missing as deadly flash floods sweep through the Nepal-Tibet border. 

In an update on Thursday, Nepal police confirmed that 270 bodies have been recovered from the flood as rescue efforts continue.

Footage of raging floodwaters tearing down buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure across communities in Nepal-Tibet emerged online on Wednesday.

Among the missing people are hundreds of Indian pilgrims, over 54 from the U.S., and 33 from the UK, along with many other Nepalese. The flood from the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa ravaged riverine areas in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and other communities, causing loss of lives, displacements and cases of missing persons.

The crushing flood ravaging communities in Nepal-Tibet has attracted global attention as the international community commiserates with Nepal and victims of the deadly flash flood. 

“Deadly flash floods have torn through communities in #Nepal, killing scores and destroying homes, livelihoods and critical infrastructure,” United Nations Global Emergency Fund said, calling for donations to provide relief for the flood victims. “The Government is leading the response, with @UN and partners mobilised.
