‘Defamation’: Portable remanded in Kwara prison over failure to meet bail conditions

Controversial musician Okikiola “Portable” Badmus was remanded in the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Monday for failing to meet bail conditions.
Portable appeared before an upper area court in Kwara on Monday over allegations of character defamation against him by Fuji musician Saheed Osupa.
Failing to meet bail conditions, the “zazoo-zeh” crooner was remanded in prison.
The bail conditions, according to the court, include N1 million with two sureties, one of whom must be chairman or secretary of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria; the other must own a landed property in Ilorin GRA with a certificate of occupancy (CofO).
This comes hours after the Kwara Police Command confirmed Portable’s arrest over alleged defamation and threat to life.
”The suspect was arrested following a petition received from one Mr Okunola Saheed, popularly known as Osupa. Police detectives in Kwara command have taken lawful steps in line with due process to investigate the allegations,” the command’s spokeswoman, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said.
