Defence health seeks NHIA sensitisation in military

The state manager of Defence Health Maintenance Limited, Kenneth Wandate, has called for stronger collaboration with military formations to improve awareness of healthcare benefits under the National Health Insurance Authority.
Mr Wandate made the call during a courtesy visit to the commander of 3 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Ahmed Tukur, on Tuesday in Kano.
He highlighted the importance of engaging officers and soldiers on their entitlements under the scheme, noting that many were unaware of the full range of services available to them.
“Our role is to bridge the gap between the scheme and the beneficiaries,” he said, urging the brigade to create platforms for sensitisation and enlightenment sessions.
Mr Tukur commended the federal government and the Defence Headquarters for sustaining the scheme and assured DHML of the brigade’s support in promoting awareness.
“The NHIA has greatly improved access to healthcare among personnel. We will continue to support initiatives that enhance the welfare of our officers and soldiers,” he said.
