Delta agency pledges cleaner state capital

The Delta Capital Territory Development Agency has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting a cleaner, healthier, and more livable environment in Asaba.
Its director-general, Patrick Ukah, said this on Thursday during ‘Operation Cleanup Asaba’.
Mr Ukah said the new exercise targets indiscriminate dumping of refuse, human waste, and sand deposits along the busy Koka Bridge corridor in the capital.
He said the initiative aligns with the agency’s mandate to maintain a clean, orderly, and sustainable capital territory.
Mr Ukah stressed that sanitation in Asaba remains a top priority and vowed that cleanup and sand evacuation around the bridge would continue.
He urged residents, traders, and road users to adopt responsible waste disposal practices.
The exercise was carried out by the agency’s environment unit under the supervision of its head, Isaac Nwosu.
