Delta procurement council assures of transparency, accountability

Mr Igbodo warned procurement officers against any default, adding that the law would not spare anybody found wanting.

David Igbodo, chairman of the Delta State Public Procurement Council, has assured the state government of the council’s commitment to transparency, accountability and value for money in procurement activities.

Mr Igbodo said this at the inaugural meeting of the council on Friday in Asaba, the state capital. The council was inaugurated on December 4, 2024.

He said the council would look at the legal institutional framework, especially the enforcement of existing procurement laws.

”We discussed ways to improve revenue generation and to enhance capacity training for our members leveraging technology,” he said.

The chairman appealed to the public for feedback on the council’s activities to enable the state to achieve its goals and objectives.
