The elders, leaders, and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Delta South senatorial district have reaffirmed support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 elections.

The party elders and leaders gave the reaffirmation on Thursday at the senatorial district’s mega meeting held in Warri South council area.

The leaders, while resolving to close ranks and reconcile aggrieved members, also pledged to vote for other party candidates in the elections.

They also resolved to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures across the senatorial district.

Joel-Onowakpo Thomas (Delta South senatorial district) said the task before APC leaders and members is to work collectively and deliver victory for the party and its candidates.

Mr Thomas urged party members to return to their wards, units and communities to mobilise voters and convert the support for the party into votes.

“The task before us is victory. We have a responsibility to work together, mobilise our people and ensure that our party produces the maximum votes in the forthcoming elections,” he said.

The senator appealed to all APC candidates to remain committed to the party and avoid actions that could create divisions, stressing that there is no room for complacency.

He also urged members to take the achievements of the Tinubu administration and the Oborevwori-led Delta administration to the grassroots as part of the party’s mobilisation campaign.

Emomotimi Guwor, the speaker of the Delta  House of Assembly, said that youths and leaders across the various ethnic groups in the senatorial district are showing renewed commitment to the electoral process.

Mr Guwor said the district is determined to improve its performance in the 2027 elections. He urged party members to ensure that all the 87 wards in Delta South deliver massively for the APC.

“Delta South will do better than before. We are determined to make Delta South the highest-performing senatorial district in the state,” he said.

Solomon Arenyeka, the chairman of the APC in Delta, said the party is poised to reclaim Delta South’s political strength. He urged leaders and members across the different ethnic groups and local government areas to unite and rebuild the party’s political structures.
