A political support group, Relax Tinubu is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN), has called on Nigerians to support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and collaborate with security agencies in efforts to tackle insecurity across the country.

The group made the call at a news conference on Friday in Abuja to commemorate the 2026 Democracy Day celebration.

Speaking at the event, a leader of the group, Kelechi Ayozie, described June 12 as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s democratic journey.

Mr Ayozie noted the celebration had laid a foundation for the democratic system currently in place.

He commended Mr Tinubu’s role in the pro-democracy struggle as a member of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), alongside notable democracy advocates, including Michael Adekunle Ajasin and Pa Abraham Adesanya.

He said that though Nigeria had overcome the era of military intervention and election annulments, the country was now contending with security challenges such as banditry, terrorism and kidnapping.

According to him, Nigerians must unite in support of government efforts to defeat criminals threatening national peace and stability.

“Nigerians must support the current administration to defeat these adversaries who are hell-bent to disrupt peaceful coexistence and create anarchy in the country.

“We are confident that through unity and unalloyed support for the government, the administration of President Tinubu shall win this battle of safeguarding our territories,” he said.

Mr Ayozie also urged citizens to assist security agencies with timely and credible information to aid the fight against crime and criminality.

He expressed confidence in the administration’s ability to reposition the country for sustainable growth in spite of prevailing economic challenges.

Also speaking, the group’s South-South Coordinator, Okunbo Osaretin, said the President’s economic and fiscal reforms had placed the country on a path of recovery and development.

Mr Osaretin said that since the removal of fuel subsidies, Nigeria now save up to $10 billion yearly, while also commending the cancer hospitals built across the six geopolitical zones.

“We also have critical tax reforms to stop multi-taxation and the historic student loan programme.

“Also the massive infrastructural developments like the 700-kilometer Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and over 400 road constructions across the nation,” Mr Osaretin said.

He said the feats demonstrated the government’s commitment to national development.

The Edo State Representative of the group, Aweh Frank, appealed to Nigerians to remain patient with the administration, saying it inherited significant economic challenges which it was addressing through various reforms.

The group’s Diaspora Coordinator, Hadiza Sule, expressed sympathy with families affected by insecurity and said the government was intensifying efforts to combat criminal activities across the country.

“For the first time in Nigerian history, we are now identifying the sponsors of these criminal activities and bringing them to justice.

“Locations of bandits are being systematically identified and eradicated, and the recent passing of the Police Bill by the House of Representatives is a remarkable milestone,” Mr Sule said.

She added that targeted interventions had been introduced to support vulnerable households and small businesses affected by economic pressures.

On his part, the Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of the group, Kingsley Oyong, commended the administration’s engagement with international partners and recent security operations that led to the rescue of kidnapped victims in parts of the country.

Earlier, RTIFN National Director of Strategic Deployment and Implementation, Shedrack Egede, urged young Nigerians to participate actively in the political process ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Mr Egede said the group had established structures in the 774 local government areas of the country to promote awareness of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda at the grassroots.
