Doyin Okupe’s son breaks up with boyfriend

Former presidential media aide Doyin Okupe’s son, Bolu, has broken up with his boyfriend.
The younger Okupe called off the relationship with his French boyfriend, taking to Instagram to announce the breakup on Tuesday.
“Yes, we broke up, sadly we are done, and our relationship is over. I was blessed by every bit of our time together. But sometimes things just don’t work out, love and light,” he said.
He did not state any reason for the breakup.
“I think in life, you just never say never say never to anything,” Mr Okupe noted. “But as it stands right now, the relationship is over, and that’s just as much as I can say. Sometimes things don’t work out, and that’s fine.”
He hoped to find another love interest who will walk him down the aisle.
“I still have plans of doing a gay wedding in Nigeria. Let’s just hope my next relationship works out,” he stated.
In January, his father, the ex-presidential spokesman, fumed after the younger Okupe publicly declared that he had become gay.
Gay marriage has been illegal in Nigeria since 2014.
In a series of tweets denouncing his son’s sexual orientation, the older Okupe suggested his son’s current sexual orientation was paranormal.
Read Mr Okupe’s full statement as published on his Twitter handle below.
My attention has been drawn to a publication of my 27yr old son, Bolu okupe, in which he declared publicly that he is Gay. I gave him that name MOBA OLUWA RIN, (I WALKED WITH GOD) because he was born at the time I gave my life to Christ.
I have been aware of this his new orientation for a while now. He knows that as a Christian and a witness for Christ (an evangelist), I am vehemently opposed to homosexuality as it runs contrary to the avowed precepts of my Christian faith.
For me I look beyond the surface or the physical. Here I see a major spiritual challenge ahead but I know as my God liveth, this whole saga will end up in Praise to the Almighty Jehova who i serve day and night.
For it is written: Behold, the hand of the Lord is not shortened that it cannot save, neither is His ear dead that he cannot hear. Isaiah 59 vs 1.
