Dozens of kidnap, rape, trafficking cases reported in Kano forest in April

The NHFSS commander said most of the complaints were on animal theft, phone snatching, rape, kidnapping, women trafficking, among others.

The Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS) in Kano on Monday said it received 28 complaints from the public in April.

Abdullahi Al-ameen, the NHFSS commander in Kano, said this in an interview in Kano on Monday.

He said most of the complaints were on animal theft, phone snatching, rape, kidnapping,  women trafficking, among others.

“Out of the 28 complainants, 25 were treated and done with, while three are pending. We will continue to nip various criminal activities in the forest in the bud,” he said.

He called for the public’s cooperation to fight forest crimes.
