Senior Pastor, Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), Paul Enenche, has donated a patrol vehicle to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to enhance road safety enforcement in Abuja.

The donation took place on Sunday on the church premises in Abuja.

Mr Enenche and his wife, Dr Becky Enenche, were decorated as Honorary Special Corps Marshals during the event.

Mr Enenche said the gesture was part of the ministry’s commitment to serving God and humanity, adding that love for God must reflect in tangible service to people.

He said, “What we are doing right now is to ensure that lives are saved and to ensure that the work is effortless for the personnel. We want to ensure people fulfill their days instead of being cautious because of the safety situation.”

He said the donation was aimed at saving lives and easing the work of FRSC personnel, especially along the busy Airport Road corridor.

The cleric expressed concern over the recent rise in road crashes, noting that the church decided to partner with the FRSC to reduce accidents.

“While we pray, we work as well. Our strength is in the Lord. When God puts a burden on your heart, we actualise it. It is not possible to walk closely with God and not feel passionately for humanity,” Mr Enenche added.

In her remarks,  Mrs Enenche assured that the ministry would sustain interventions across various sectors in Nigeria and beyond.

Receiving the vehicle, Assistant Corps Marshal, Godwin Omiko, who represented the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, described the donation as a “wonderful gesture” and a call to action for other well-meaning Nigerians.

“Road safety is a shared responsibility. Today, Dunamis International has answered their call in assisting us to make the environment safe for motorists. The corps marshal is extremely happy with this partnership,” he said.

He cautioned that the donation would not exempt church members from traffic regulations, stressing that offenders would be sanctioned accordingly.

“Don’t say because the vehicle was donated by Dunamis, FRSC cannot arrest you. FRSC will do that, everyone must avoid ‘one-way’ driving, avoid using phones while driving, and obey speed limits,” he stated.

The FCT Sector Commander, Felix Theman, said 597 persons lost their lives to road crashes nationwide between December 15 and January. 15.

Mr Theman said the FCT recorded significant fatalities during the period, particularly along the Airport Road corridor.

“The vehicle will go a long way in improving enforcement. The presiding pastor has been our greatest partner, assisting with fueling vehicles and inviting our men to every programme.

“This is not a licence for members to drive anyhow. In fact, it is a licence for us to enforce the law even more strictly,” he said.

The National Coordinator of Special Marshals, Adaji Usman, said Mr Enenche had supported the corps for over 30 years.

The Lugbe Unit Commander, Muktar Garga, expressed appreciation, noting that the cleric fulfilled the promise of the vehicle within two weeks of a formal request.
