Easter: Police assure Kwara residents of adequate security

Police commissioner Paul Odama has assured Kwara residents of adequate security before, during, and after the Easter celebrations.
This is contained in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, SP Ajayi Okasanmi.
The police commissioner said all the materials and human resources available to the command had been deployed to ensure Christians and Muslims alike enjoyed the holidays in peace and equanimity.
He disclosed that there was aggressive foot and motorised patrol, devoid of undue pressure on innocent citizens, particularly the youth and the students in the state.
Mr Odama advised youths to be law-abiding and avoid every circumstance that could cause disharmony between them and the law enforcement agencies on duty during the period.
He added that the police had been warned to desist from checking the telephones of citizens and unnecessary pursuit of alleged Yahoo boys in Kwara.
The commissioner congratulated the Christian faithful on the successful completion of Lent, which signified the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The police boss equally advised the citizens to celebrate in moderation and be conscious of happenings around them.
Meanwhile, the command’s emergency lines to call in case of any untoward situation are 0812527504607/07032069501.
