Eberechi Eze joins Arsenal from Crystal Palace as club’s new No. 10

Arsenal have completed the signing of England international Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, with the creative midfielder unveiled as the Gunners’ new No. 10.
Eze was unveiled as the new No. 10 after completing a deal worth over £60 million from Crystal Palace.
The Gunners’ move hijacked what would have been an incredible signing for Spurs, despite agreeing on personal terms, and would have added a major boost to their attacking options. The player only focused on a move to North London as a major priority.
Eze was presented at the Emirates during Arsenal’s clash with Leeds, where fans gave a warm welcome to the returning Gunner.
Mikel Arteta’s side made the huge move after an injury circumstance was picked up by Kai Havertz, who suffered a knee injury during their away clash with Manchester United.
The club announced the signing on its official website, with new sporting director Andrea Berta driving the move as part of his ambitious recruitment strategy.
Speaking on Eze’s arrival, Berta said, “We are so pleased to have completed this deal to bring Eberechi to Arsenal. Eberechi is a creative and explosive talent with huge technical quality – also a big-game player, with his experience at the international level with England underlining his quality and character.
“There has been excellent teamwork across the club to make this transfer happen, and we are very confident Eberechi will be an important addition to our squad as we continue to build for success.”
The Gunner’s boss, manager Arteta, stated, “We are absolutely delighted to bring Eberechi to Arsenal. He is a powerful and exciting player who will give us a new dimension in our attacking game. What stands out just as much as his talent and intelligence as a player is the way he has worked hard throughout his career to get where he is today.
“His journey, his mentality, and his ambition are exactly what we want in our team, and we love how much it means to him and his family to be joining our club. We all look forward to starting to work with Eberechi soon.”
Eze’s signing adds to a remarkable list of recruits for Arteta’s side, which already includes Kepa Arrizabalaga, Viktor Gyökeres, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Nørgaard, and Martin Zubimendi.
Eze’s journey back to north London began in 2016 when he signed for Queens Park Rangers. His breakthrough campaign came in the 2019/20 season, earning QPR’s Player of the Year before making a Premier League move to Crystal Palace in 2020, playing alongside club favourites such as Wilfred Zaha, Michael Olise, and Christian Benteke.
Over five seasons at Selhurst Park, he featured in more than 150 games, with his standout moment arriving last May as he fired home the winner in the Eagles’ historic FA Cup triumph over Manchester City, ending the club’s 164-year history.
