Economic Crunch: Chicken Republic introduces rice and egg menu

As Nigeria’s economy continues to worsen, renowned fast food organisation Chicken Republic, has started offering rice and egg with sauce in its food menu.
In an Instagram post on Monday, the fast food disclosed that the newly introduced menu will sell for N500, and will include both rice and spaghetti with stew sauce and eggs.
“Start your week right with our delicious Egg Star Meal. Enjoy an egg with either spaghetti or white rice and our delicious new sauce for only N500,” read the Instagram post.
The organisation’s move is a surprising shift from its strict use of Chicken in its menu, which might be as a result of the country’s harsh economic situation.
This development comes at a time when businesses in Nigeria are devising means to survive the country’s harsh economic realities.
Peoples Gazette had earlier reported that Guaranty Trust Bank cut down its daily operational hours from 5:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. following the incessant increase in the pump price of diesel.
In a related development, First Bank had also reduced operation hours at most of its branches nationwide.
