Economic Hardship: Davido promises donation of N300 million to orphanages

Nigerian singer David “Davido” Adeleke has promised to donate N300 million naira to orphanages nationwide.
The multiple award-winning singer revealed this in a post shared on X on Tuesday.
“I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million naira to orphanages around Nigeria as my yearly contribution to the Nation,” he said.
He added, “Details of disbursement [will be shared] tomorrow (Wednesday).”
Davido, known for his philanthropic gestures, announced this as Nigerians continue to suffer from the harsh economic policies of President Bola Tinubu-led administration.
Last year, Davido donated N237 million to 424 orphanages in Nigeria through his David Adeleke Foundation (DAF).
To mark his 29th birthday in 2021, the singer charged his friends, alongside well-meaning individuals, to donate a million naira each to him.
He raised N7 million within ten minutes of the announcement, prompting him to announce that the goal was to raise N100 million to support orphanages.
The campaign raised N200 million, and he added another N50 million to make it N250 million.
