Edo 2024: AAC governorship candidate Oberaifo unveils Humanity First Agenda

Udoh Oberaifo, the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for the September 21 governorship election in Edo, on Sunday unveiled the Humanity First agenda for the Edo people.
Shortly after officially unveiling his deputy, Lord Osunde, a pioneer Edo Obidient Movement leader to the general public in Benin, Mr Oberaifo said he would dedicate his time, if elected, to lifting Edo people out of poverty.
Mr Oberaifo stated that his Humanity First Agenda meant that he would put Edo people first, especially the youth and women, before anything else if elected state governor.
He disclosed that the agenda would be a platform to help millions of Edo people out of poverty by creating jobs through small and medium enterprises (SMEs), improving the standard of living and providing quality healthcare and education to the vulnerable.
Mr Oberaifo said his candidature stands for “true leadership and innovation.”
“The first keyword of my agenda is Humanity First, which is putting Edo people first before politics, before power mongering, godfatherism and personal gains.
“If you put people first in all you are doing, that means you will get it right.
” It is essential to put the people first by deliberately creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive,” he said.
According to him, the essence of the meeting is to officially unveil to the general public the party’s deputy governorship candidate, who, before he defected to the party, was a staunch member and leader of the Labour Party and Obidient Movement in the state.
“Osunde was a pioneer member, who organised the first Two Million Obidient Movement Walk in the state and had structures across the three senatorial districts, and has found it important to join our party,” he added.
Mr Oberaifo, however, added that AAC was an alternative to rescue Edo and its people from the political, social and economic quagmire in which it found itself.
