The Speaker of the Edo House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, has inaugurated a brand new 15-seater Hiace Bus acquired by the Assembly Service Commission to enhance staff mobility.

In a speech at the brief event on Thursday in Benin, Mr Agbebaku commended the commission for its initiative and lauded the staff for creating an enabling environment for the lawmakers to operate.

The politician assured the commission that the parliament will undertake the renovation of its building and offices to provide a conducive work environment for its staff. He urged them to put in their best for the progress of the commission.

The chairman of the commission, Ezehi Igbas, stated that the commission purchased the bus to facilitate the movement of staff members and enhance their performance.

Mr Igbas said that the gesture was a consensus of the commission members to enable the workers to carry out their functions adequately.

The majority leader, Jonathan Aigbokhian, commended the commission for looking inward to better the lot of its staff members and urged them to make judicious use of the bus.

Mr Aigbokhian said the inauguration of the bus was to demonstrate the commission’s commitment to enhancing staff welfare and promoting organisational efficiency.

According to him, the gesture is expected to boost staff morale and productivity, ultimately contributing to the overall development of Edo.
