Edo CP decorates newly promoted officers

The Edo Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Dankwara, has decorated 11 newly promoted officers with new ranks on behalf of Inspector General of Police Egbetokun Olokayode.
An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) was promoted to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), while two Chief Superintendents of Police were promoted to Assistant Commissioners of Police.
Also, five Superintendents of Police were promoted to Chief Superintendents of Police and three Deputy Superintendents of Police to Superintendents of Police.
Decorating the officers at the Edo Police Command on Thursday, Mr Dankwara said the police force found them worthy of promotion but should know that it came with more responsibilities.
He admonished the officers to be good ambassadors of the force and guard their ranks jealously by doing the right things.
“Now you have been promoted to a higher rank, you have to be more careful as you discharge your duties.
‘The more you go higher, the more you would be watched by other officers and members of the public,” the CP said.
Responding on behalf of the promoted officers, ACP Margret Oyakhire commended the IGP and Police Service Commission for finding them worthy of the new ranks.
She assured that they would not disappoint the force in discharging their duties.
