Edo Queens, Pacesetter Queens settle for draw in Ibadan

Edo Queens Football Club on Wednesday held hosts Pacesetter Queens to a goalless draw in a Nigeria Women Football League Premiership Matchday 16 fixture in Ibadan.
Both sides created scoring opportunities but failed to convert, as resolute defending and impressive goalkeeping ensured a 0-0 scoreline at full time.
The result earned the Benin-based side a valuable away point.
Pacesetter Queens dominated proceedings before the break, creating chances and testing Edo Queens goalkeeper, Doris Ohia, with several attempts.
The second half resumed with both teams playing at a higher intensity.
Ohia, however, proved decisive in the 65th minute, saving a penalty to deny the hosts the chance to secure maximum points.
In spite of late pressure from Pacesetter Queens, Edo Queens’ defenders, Sunday Blessing and Valentina Uroko, stood firm, cutting out crosses and blocking shots to preserve the clean sheet.
Pacesetter Queens lost 0-2 to Ekiti Queens in their previous league match.
Edo Queens, one of the in-form teams in the league, had earlier defeated Naija Ratels 2-0, underscoring their attacking strength and defensive solidity.
