Education catalyst for socioeconomic advancement, says Wike

Governor Nyesom Wike says education is the foundation for increased socioeconomic advancement in society.
The Rivers governor said this during the inauguration of the Ishmael Ikpeazu Memorial Library and Center for Scientific Leadership in Umuobiakwa in the Obingwa local government area of Abia.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu built the resource centre in honour of his father, Ishmael Ikpeazu, who was a teacher.
Mr Wike described the resource centre as a place that would serve as a hub that will showcase the role of education as the base on which the entire building of human development stands.
He added that the centre would be a symbol of a fruitful effort made to preserve legacies that would contribute to positively impacting the future generation.
Mr Ikpeazu said, “The Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu (DOVI) Leadership institute is housed in this library and we are going to enrol 50 candidates for the DOVI fellowship. It would be made up of persons capable of changing the leadership paradigm and persons that think differently.”
Also, ex-Governor Ayodele Fayose commended Mr Ikpeazu for building a centre to preserve his late father’s legacy and for adopting a leadership style that encouraged the inclusion and active participation of the citizens.
