Education minister Nwajiuba obtains N100 million nomination forms as ASUU strike enters day 72

A political support group, Project Nigeria, has presidential expressions of interest and nomination forms for Chukuemeka Nwajuiba, the Minister of State for Education, to run for president in the 2023 elections on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This is as the government department under his watch has failed to reach a deal with public university lecturers under the aegis of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
An industrial action embarked upon by ASUU over poor pay, years of unmet agreements and deplorable service conditions has reached day 72.
Special Assistant to Senate President Ahmed Lawan, Abubakar Sidiq announced through a tweet that the group obtained the forms for Mr Nwajiuba at the party’s headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
“The Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajuiba becomes the first person to pick the APC Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the APC Presidential Primary as a group of Nigerians raised over N100m from where they purchased the forms for him,” he said.
Though Mr Nwajuiba is yet to publicly declare, his declaration to run for president is sure to cause rumples due to the woeful failure of the education minister with him as a minister of state.
