EFCC arrests popular cross-dresser Bobrisky over alleged naira abuse

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested popular social crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky.
Sources at the EFCC who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to speak to the press confirmed the development to Peoples Gazette on Thursday.
Though details of the arrest remained sketchy as of the time this story was filed, online reports stated that he was said to have been arrested at Pinnock Estate in Lagos State on April 3.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the commission, Dele Oyewale, told our reporter that he would issue an official statement regarding the development.
But in a report published in Sahara Reporters, Mr Oyewale said Bobrisky was arrested for allegedly committing an economic crime.
“It is true our boys arrested him yesterday evening in Lagos for naira abuse. We don’t have anything to do with his lifestyle (being a cross-dresser). He was suspected of committing an economic crime and that was the reason for his arrest,” Mr Oyewale explained.
Last week, there were calls for his arrest following the controversial award for best dress category at a Nollywood event which generated outrage from different quarters.
