EFCC declares four wanted over involvement in CBEX Ponzi scheme

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Friday, declared four persons wanted over the CBEX Ponzi scheme that swindled thousands of Nigerians out of their money.
With their photographs published, the anti-graft agency declared Seyi Oloyede, Emmanuel Uko, Adefowora Oluwanisola, and Adefowora Abiodun Olaonipekun wanted in a post via its official X handle on Friday.
“The public is hereby notified that the persons whose photographs appear above are wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for fraud allegedly perpetrated on an online trading platform called Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX),” the anti-graft agency declared.
It added, “Anybody with useful information as to their whereabouts should please contact the Commission in its Ibadan, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt.”
This followed the crash of the CBEX Ponzi scheme, which saw thousands of Nigerians lose their money.
On Thursday, the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court gave the EFCC the go-ahead to arrest and detain six promoters of Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX) over alleged investment fraud to the tune of over one billion dollars.
