EFCC nabs 11 for alleged internet fraud in Lagos, recovers seven cars

Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended 11 suspected internet fraudsters in Lagos.
EFCC confirmed this in a post shared on its X handle @officialEFCC on Thursday.
The commission stated that the suspects were apprehended on Thursday in the Lekki area of the state.
“They were apprehended during a sting operation at Tulip Heaven, Chevron in Lekki, following credible intelligence on the activities of some individuals suspected to be involved in computer-related fraud, ” it stated.
The agency said that following their arrest, vehicles and mobile phones were recovered from them.
“Items recovered from them are one Range Rover, three Mercedes‑Benz vehicles, two Lexus vehicles, one Toyota vehicle, 15 iPhones, two Android phones, one Nokia torch phone.
“Others are one Mac desktop computer, two Apple laptops, two Dell laptops, two iPads, one Economic Community of West African States passport and one yellow card,” it stated.
According to EFCC, the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
