The chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Christopher Maikalangu, has urged residents to sustain the lessons of piety, sacrifice, and discipline beyond Ramadan.

In a Sallah message signed by his aide, Kingsley Madaki, on Friday, Mr Maikalangu congratulated the Muslim Ummah on completing the Ramadan fast.

He said the sustainable development of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) required the collective spiritual and physical support of all citizens.

The chairman expressed gratitude to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, describing him as a mentor whose leadership had been instrumental to the success of the council.

”As we celebrate this joyous occasion, I want to specially thank my mentor, the FCT minister, for his leadership and for standing by us.

”His support was instrumental in our recent reelection victory, a mandate we hold sacred as we continue delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of AMAC,” he said.

He urged residents to continue praying for the minister, noting that the ongoing infrastructure development across the FCT reflected his vision.

Mr Maikalangu also commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Mr Wike, stating that the decision had helped to bridge the gap between government and the grassroots.

According to him, the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda is becoming visible through the various road projects and developmental strides completed within the territory.

Mr Maikalangu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, pledging that his second term would focus on complementing the minister’s efforts, particularly in rural communities.

He wished the Muslim faithful a happy Eid-el-Fitr celebration and urged them to continue praying for the prosperity of the council and the country.
