The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed no fewer than 1,110 personnel to ensure a hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration in Delta.

The commandant of NSCDC, Delta State command, Mathew Ovye, told journalists in Asaba on Friday that officers had been assigned to different strategic areas and locations across the state.

According to Mr Ovye, the strategic deployment is to ensure adequate protection of all critical national assets and infrastructure in the state.

He directed all area commanders to ensure proper security coordination within their areas.

The commandant charged Divisional Officers to effectively mobilise their personnel for deployment to all recreational centres and prayer grounds within their respective jurisdiction.

“All component commanders and special forces should work in synergy with other security agencies to ensure protection of lives, safety and peace for all in the state,” he said.

Mr Ovye felicitated with Muslim faithful in the state and across the country while praying for a peaceful celebration and a progressive nation.
