The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has felicitated officers, soldiers, and their families on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.

He called for continued sacrifice, discipline, and sustained operational momentum in ongoing military campaigns across the country.

In a goodwill message, Mr Shaibu said the festival reflects the values of faith, obedience, and sacrifice, which align with the professional calling of soldiers serving in defence of Nigeria.

He commended troops across various theatres of operations for their courage and resilience in confronting terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other security threats, noting that their efforts continue to yield significant operational successes.

“The nation remains proud of your selfless service and unwavering commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he said.

The COAS also paid tribute to fallen heroes, describing their sacrifice as a lasting inspiration, while assuring that the Nigerian Army remained committed to the welfare of their families.

He reiterated his commitment to improved welfare, including enhanced accommodation, healthcare services, educational support, and other measures aimed at boosting morale and operational effectiveness.

Mr Shaibu urged personnel to remain disciplined and professional, and to use the festive period to strengthen unity, mutual respect, and cohesion within the ranks.

He also emphasised the importance of inter-agency collaboration, noting that synergy among security forces remained critical to sustaining gains in ongoing operations.

The army chief appreciated President Bola Tinubu for his continued support for the Armed Forces, and called on troops to remain steadfast in their duties while celebrating responsibly.

He prayed for the peace, security, and prosperity of the nation.
