Eid-el-Kabir: Kogi governor’s wife urges peaceful coexistence, sacrifice

The wife of the Kogi governor, Sefinat Ododo, has urged Muslims to uphold the virtues of sacrifice, charity and peaceful coexistence as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir

In her Eid message on Wednesday in Lokoja, Mrs Ododo congratulated the Muslim Ummah on witnessing the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

She described the festival as a symbol of sacrifice, obedience and submission to the will of Allah.

She emphasised that the celebration is a reminder of the faith and devotion demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail.

According to her, acts of charity, humility and good neighbourliness are essential values capable of strengthening unity and harmony in the society.

The governor’s wife called on Muslims and other residents of the state to continue to promote peace and build bridges across ethnic, religious and political divides.

She also urged citizens to use the festive period to pray for the peace, progress and prosperity of Kogi and Nigeria.

She assured residents that the administration of Governor Ahmed Ododo would continue to implement people-oriented policies and impactful projects across the state.
