Eid-el-Kabir: NSCDC deploys 1,803 officers in Kogi

The Kogi command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 1,803 officers and men across the state for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
This is contained in a statement on Monday in Lokoja by the command’s public relations officer, Abdullahi Aliyu.
Mr Aliyu said that the deployment ordered by the state commandant of the corps, Ebenezer Aletan, aimed at strengthening security during the festive period.
Mr Aletan also said that the deployment was in line with the directive of the commandant-general of the NSCDC, Ahmed Audi, adding that it would ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Eid celebration.
“Personnel will be stationed at worship centres, marketplaces, motor parks, recreational facilities and critical infrastructure across the 21 local government areas of the state, including Lokoja,” he said.
He directed area commanders and divisional officers to ensure effective coordination, professionalism and proactive engagement in the discharge of their duties.
According to him, the command remains committed to working in synergy with other security agencies to maintain peace before, during and after the celebration.
The commandant urged personnel to engage community stakeholders in intelligence gathering and sustain surveillance to prevent security threats.
He extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslims, praying for peace and national tranquillity.
