Eid-el-Kabir: Police in Osun tighten security, assure peaceful celebrations

The police command in Osun says it has put in place comprehensive security measures to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration across the state.
The police commissioner, Ibrahim Gotan, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, assuring residents of the command’s readiness to safeguard lives and property during the festive period.
Mr Gotan said security operatives had been strategically deployed to entry and exit points across the state to prevent the influx of criminal elements. He added that officers had also been stationed on highways, at places of worship, recreation centres, parks and other public spaces to maintain order before, during and after the celebrations.
The police chief urged residents to cooperate with security personnel, noting that officers had been directed to remain professional, civil and respectful of citizens’ fundamental rights.
He further advised residents to abide by existing laws and celebrate responsibly without causing disruptions.
Mr Gotan also urged the public to promptly report any suspicious activities or emergencies via 08039537995 or at the nearest police station.
