Eid-El Maulud: Opportunity for Muslims to pray against extreme poverty, disunity, insecurity in Nigeria, says Peter Obi

Peter Obi of Labour Party says this year’s Eid-El Maulud provides Nigerian Muslims an opportunity to soberly reflect and pray against various challenges confronting the country.
In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Mr Obi “rejoice with all the Muslim Faithful in Nigeria as they celebrate the Eid-El Maulud to honour the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.”
This year’s celebration, Mr Obi said, “is an opportunity for sober reflections and deep intercessions for divine intervention in the many challenges facing our nation on all fronts.”
“Nigeria has continued to contend with many challenges, some of which are obvious: disunity among the people, extreme poverty, high rate of unemployment and high level of insecurity.”
On Wednesday, Muslim faithful in Nigeria and around the world celebrated Eid-El Maulud.
