Eight suspects nabbed with dangerous weapons, cannabis in Minna

The police command in Niger State said it arrested eight suspects for dealing in illicit drugs and possession of dangerous weapons among others in Minna, Niger State.
This is contained in a statement by the command’s Public Relations officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun in Minna on Thursday.
According to the police spokesperson, on July 7, at about 3a.m, police operatives of Tactical Support Team (TST) of the command arrested 8 suspects during a raid of criminal hideouts and black spots in Gulu area of Lapai.
He said this was based on credible information that the suspects were dealing in illicit drugs and other substances in the area.
He said, “They were arrested in possession of substances suspected to be cannabis seeds, amulets, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and dangerous weapons such as large machetes, knives, large sickles and clubs among others. The suspects include Umar Auwal, 18 – years, Yunusa Saleh aka Sorry Baby, 33- years, Samaila Ayoola, 25 -years, Basiru Tanko, 25 – years, Kamal Isyaku, 23 -years.’’
He stated that they were all natives of Shiroro Local Government Area, residing in Gulu via Lapai.
Others include Ben Abel, 30 – years of Abia State residing in Shakwatu, Yusuf Ishaya 31- years of Kagarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State, also residing in Shakwatu and Aliyu Adamu, 19 – years of Chanchaga, Niger, resident of Angwan-Sarki.
Meanwhile, the police noted that they were all in custody for further investigation after which they would be charged to court and prosecuted accordingly.
